Here, we can help you to take care of all of the forms you need that relate to the Amendment quickly, easily, and efficiently.
About Amendment 80
The Amendment was created to provide solutions for a number of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council’s concerns. For example, it’s designed to limit the ability of non-AFA (American-Fisheries Act), trawl catcher/processors, to expand their harvest capacity into other fisheries that are not managed by a LAPP. Additionally, the Amendment was created to allocate fishery resources among the Bering Sea and Aleutian Island trawl harvesters with historic and present harvest patterns and future harvest needs in mind. Furthermore, the Amendment was to improve both retention and utilization of fishery resources by the non-AFA trawl catcher/processor fleet by extending the groundfish retention standard to non-AFA trawl catcher/process vessels of all lengths. Those are just some of what it touches on, as it’s a very complex amendment.
A World of Opportunity
The above is much of the “legalese” associated with the amendment. Basically, the amendment is in place to help Alaskan fishing. As seafood is Alaska’s leading export, this amendment makes sure that more of the economic benefits of that stay in Alaska, contributing to the regional economies. Of course, should you be able to get into this industry, the fishing from it goes all around the world. Indeed, it’s been estimated that the amendment is responsible for creating almost three thousand local jobs.
