The abstract of title will contain all history regarding the vessel including chain of ownership, liens placed against the vessel, satisfactions of mortgages, etc.\"><span class=\"col-xs-12 page-descendent-link\">Abstract of Title<\/span><\/a><a class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-12 col-md-6 page-descendent-link-outer\" href=\"https:\/\/commercialfishingpermits.us\/cfpc\/united-states-coast-guard-documentation\/initial-form\/\" data-toggle=\"tooltip\" data-placement=\"left\" data-original-title=\"This form allows you to apply for U.S. Coast Guard Documentation only if your vessel has never been documented under U.S. Coast Guard Documentation before. The vessel must measure at least five net tons (with the exception of certain oil spill response vessels) and be wholly owned by a citizen of the United States. If there is an outstanding mortgage on the vessel, the mortgage will need to be satisfied or permission from the mortgagee (lender) will need to be obtained in order to complete the transfer of the vessel\u2019s Certificate of Documentation. The vessel must measure at least five net tons (with the exception of certain oil spill response vessels) and be wholly owned by a citizen of the United States. This form is only used when the expiration date on the COD has past 30 days from its expiration date.
