Gulf of Mexico Federal Commercial Fishing Permits
If you’ve ever had Royal Red Shrimp, you may have thought that they, well, don’t taste all that much like shrimp. That’s common! Many feel that they taste more like scallops or even lobster. While these shrimp can be found in waters from French Guiana all the way up to New England, one of the most popular regions within which to fish them is the Gulf of Mexico. Many of our commercial fishing customers fish for these shrimp year round, but the specific season tends to last from the end of summer to the end of fall.
What to Know About These Forms in Regards to the Expiration Date
For many of the forms that we offer, the expiration date is a year from when the form is applied for or granted. That’s not the case with these. INstead, it’s the last day of the permit holder’s birth month. That’s true regardless of when in the year you get these forms. It’s the last day of the managing owner’s birth month if there are multiple owners. The “birth month” rule stays in effect even if the owner is a business, as the expiration date will be the last day of the month in which the company was formed.
