Among some of the new changes, Louisiana freshwater charter guides are now required to have a Freshwater Charter Guide license to operate correctly. Despite the new regulations, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will allow freshwater charter guides to obtain their licenses without the required insurance documents and U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license.
Why does the state of Louisiana let you acquire the new Charter Guide License with this exemption? Because this legislation will last until November 15, 2022, when those items will become mandatory to get the license. This will give you a whole year to get the proper documentation while you can use the new Freshwater Charter Guide License.
